Nyamekye Junction, Accra
Our launch initiative — free BMI, hepatitis B, and blood screenings, plus on-the-spot NHIS registration, brought to the community.
On 16 May, the foundation took “Know Your Numbers” to the Nyamekye Traffic Light Junction — offering free BMI checks, hepatitis B testing, blood screenings, and other essential health assessments to anyone who came.
People without health insurance were registered for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) on the spot, removing one of the most overlooked barriers to consistent care.
The initiative reframes health awareness as part of everyday life rather than an emergency response, and falls in line with Ghana’s Free Primary Health Care drive toward Universal Health Coverage.
See the impact“We’ve normalized guessing when it comes to our health. People don’t know their numbers — their blood levels, their risks, their status — until something goes wrong. Know Your Numbers is about changing that culture completely.”
